As stated in the introduction we are a small group very keen on recruiting new (younger) members. Originally formed during the after war years of 1945/46 the group has seen many changes, mainly with the demise of members of course. The biggest asset we have at the moment is the miniature railway in the park alongside Commercial Road. Staines. Built around the mid 1970's this facility still gives pleasure to many people and children, running for passenger rides (behind steam or electrically powered locomotives) during the summer between Easter and October (weather permitting of course) We do have meetings at the park at other times, during the winter months we meet in warmer conditions at a hall nearby to the Black Dog public house along the Staines Road West. If you would like to come along and have a chat and a cuppa please go to our own website http://tinyurl.com/242tyjd for contact and other details. Thanks. (Secretary)
I'd love to see more younger members joining you. I think it would give young people a thrill to learn about and build a working engine. The models tent at the Egham Show was brilliant and so interesting. You'd think kids would love that.
