So, I'm pretty happy to live here in Staines. I think it's a nice town. I think the people here are good people who do their best and help to keep it a nice place to live. Mostly I'm quite proud to say I live here. But this morning a friend of mine had her baby's pushchair stolen from outside the front of her house!
What kind of people would do that? And why? I'm disgusted, frankly. What s***. It's outrageous that you can't leave your pushchair for five minutes outside your front door for fear some little **** might come and pinch it. What, do we have to lock everything up now in case someone fancies helping themselves to your stuff? Should we no longer trust our very neighbours?
I hope whoever did it is wracked with guilt for taking this little baby girl's pushchair and I hope they feel ashamed of themselves for this vile behaviour.
Does anyone else have experience of having their stuff stolen in Staines? Should we be more fearful that our neighbourhood is no longer the pleasant place I usually believe it to be?

I had my spare wheel stolen from underneath my car. It was a rubbish one but was annoying as I had to pay to replace it and the new one now takes up space in the boot because I can't put it back under the car. It's irritating and sad that people like that live in our community but it doesn't make me feel Staines is a worse place to live. You'll get opportunists wherever you live I think.

Unfortunately I too have had experience of this, in the past six months Ive had the aerial pinched, a nasty key line along the side of my car and someone even smashing my wing mirror while I was sat in the car stationary who didnt even stop, if only I was quick enough to get the licence number :(

As Siobhan says yes you do have to be careful and there will always be odd people who are idiots, but you get them everywhere and for everyone of them there are many more good and kind hearted people around you :)

I think Staines is a pretty good town on the whole. Even tho the pinched wheel was a bit of a nuisance I still feel it's a great place to live. We have nice neighbours too. I used to live in Hounslow. No one ever talked to you there!!
